Congressman Mooney met with Brenda Thompson, Administrative Assistant at E. A. Hawse Health Center in Baker, WV and discussed West Virginia’s leadership in coronavirus vaccine distribution. Congressman Mooney recently announced health care grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the E. A. Hawse Health Center. This includes a $308,299 Health Care Cluster grant, a $99,995 grant for Capital Assistance-Disaster Response and Recovery and a $727,985 grant for COVID-19 response.

“I enjoyed my visits in Hardy County and in Pendleton County. Local stops at churches, libraries and local businesses and meetings with staff at local health centers are especially important now amid economic recovery from the coronavirus. It is great to meet directly with our healthcare workers who are on the frontlines daily ensuring the well-being and health of West Virginians. Their devotion has helped keep our communities safe and healthy throughout the coronavirus outbreak,” said Congressman Alex X. Mooney.

The Congressman continues to hold meetings with local businesses and constituents to discuss economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
