Mooney Announces Charleston as Air Force Priority Base

CHARLESTON – Today Congressman Alex X. Mooney (WV-02) issued the following statement announcing that the U.S. Air Force has chosen West Virginia’s 130th Airlift Wing at the McLaughlin Air National Guard Base to be the location for the recapitalization of eight new C-130J airplanes:

“I am proud to announce, after a competitive nationwide selection process, West Virginia’s 130th Airlift Wing, located at the McLaughlin Air National Guard Base in Charleston, West Virginia, has been designated by the Air Force to receive eight new C-130J cargo planes. This means that our brave U.S. servicemen and women will be trained on these airplanes right here in West Virginia. I was glad to make the case for the Mountain State alongside my colleagues in the West Virginia delegation.”
