Congressman Mooney Votes to Censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib for Antisemitic Comments

WASHINGTON – Congressman Alex X. Mooney joined a bipartisan majority in voting to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) for her antisemitic comments following Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel.

Censure is the second highest punishment the House can impose on a member short of expulsion.

Rep. Tlaib has continued to parrot Hamas talking points claiming that Israel bombed a hospital in Gaza and has refused to withdraw her incendiary statement even after U.S intelligence agencies showed it was a terror group affiliated with Hamas that bombed the hospital.

Rep. Tlaib has also used the phrase “from the river to the sea,” which is a Palestinian rallying cry calling for the elimination of the Jewish state.

Talib also called for “ceasefire” on the House Floor yesterday, which would result in a reprieve for the Hamas terrorists who killed children, raped women and continue to hold hundreds of Israelis hostage.

Congressman Alex X. Mooney said of the vote, “It is despicable that a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives would join Hamas terrorists in chanting ‘from the river to the sea,’ which stands for eliminating Israel from the map along with 8 million jews. Radical left-wing members of Congress like Talib are aiding and abetting blood thirsty terrorists against our great ally Israel.”

Congressman Mooney added, “The United States must stand with Israel and against barbaric terrorists who murdered innocent people. We must also stand against the rising tide of antisemitism coming from left-wing members of Congress like Rashida Talib.”
