Congressman Mooney Statement on Second Batch Of Classified Documents Found In President Biden’s Garage

Congressman Alex X. Mooney issued the following statement following the discovery of classified documents from Joe Biden’s time as Vice President were found in his “personal library” at his home in Wilmington, Delaware, along with other documents found in his garage. This comes days after it was disclosed that sensitive documents were also found at the office of President Biden’s former institute in Washington.

“A second batch of classified documents from President Joe Biden’s time as Vice President has been found in his unauthorized possession. The Justice Department should hold all Americans to the same standard of treatment regardless of party affiliation. Attorney General Merrick Garland should immediately appoint a special counsel, as he did for President Donald J. Trump, to examine what President Joe Biden was doing with these classified materials,” said Congressman Alex X. Mooney.

“President Donald Trump was maligned and subjected to an unprecedented raid of his home by the FBI for allegedly possessing sensitive documents. The President of the United States has the ability to declassify sensitive documents, Vice President Biden did not have that ability. In order to avoid continued hypocrisy and double standards, the Department of Justice must look into this matter with the same vigor as it did to Donald Trump. After all, these are hard-working American taxpayer dollars funding these federal government agencies. You can be assured the Republican-led House of Representative will investigate this issue.”
