WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Congressman Alex X. Mooney voted for H.R. 22, the Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2015. This bill authorizes the federal highway program for six years.
“This bill is important to economic development in West Virginia. A safe and modern highway system will help facilitate jobs and economic growth. Authorizing the highway program for six years will enable West Virginia to properly plan for needed upgrades to our roads and bridges,” said Rep. Mooney.
The Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2015 is a multi-year highway bill that improves our Nation’s roads and bridges, empowers the states to make more decisions, streamlines the permitting process, and maintains a commitment to safety.
Alex X. Mooney represents West Virginia’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a member of the Budget and Natural Resources Committees.
