WASHINGTON – Today Congressman Alex X. Mooney (WV-02) announced a $146,230 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice grant for Upshur Country through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services’ School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP). This is a collaborative effort between Upshur County Schools, Upshur County Commission and the Upshur County Sheriff’s office.
“I’m proud to have secured funding for school safety in Upshur County. This grant will allow the Upshur County School District to install an early warning capability phone system which will help save lives,” said Congressman Alex Mooney.
