CONGRESSMAN ALEX X. MOONEY CONGRATULATES Tyler S. Meisenzahl ON ACCEPTANCE INTO U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY

WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Congressman Alex X. Mooney (WV-02) announced Tyler S. Meisenzahl of Charles Town has been offered acceptance into the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. Mr. Meisenzahl was nominated by Rep. Mooney and selected for appointment by the congressman’s 2022 Service Academy Review Board for West Virginia’s Second Congressional District.

“I am so proud to nominate Tyler for the United States Naval Academy as I know he has a strong future ahead of him. He is a nominee who represents West Virginia’s finest men and women who choose to serve our great nation,” said Rep. Alex X. Mooney. “Tyler’s unwavering respect for America is exactly why he would be an outstanding addition to the United States Naval Academy. I wish him the best of success as he starts his academic career.”

Tyler S Meisenzahl is a student at Washington High School in Charles Town, WV where he is academically driven and balances a student-athlete lifestyle. Military service is held in high regard to the Meisenzahl family. Both of Tyler’s grandfathers were in the military and he has an uncle who served in Iraq.

“The service academies offer its cadets opportunities to grow and succeed from the core curriculum to courses specific to my major to military trainings,” said Tyler S. Meisenzahl. “I am guided by the goal of not just reaching my potential but surpassing it. I know that at a service academy, I will find challenges that help me succeed in the service of my country.”

Nominations are based on academic merit, moral character, scholarship, leadership potential, physical aptitude, career goals and motivation. Admittance to any of our nation’s service academies is highly competitive, with a limited number of cadets being accepted each year.
