BEVERLY, WV – On Tuesday, Congressman Alex X. Mooney visited the Beverly Heritage Center in Randolph County. The Beverly Heritage Center combines four historic buildings in the center of Beverly, West Virginia, to tell the story of the Battle of Rich Mountain and the First Campaign of the American Civil War, the pivotal role of the Staunton-Parkersburg Turnpike, and daily life in a small rural county seat through the 19th Century.
The congressman was accompanied by Chris Mielke, Executive Director, who provided fantastic background information on the exhibits. Rep. Mooney has proudly written letters of support for federal grants and helped to secure books from the Library of Congress Surplus Books Program for the center.
Congressman Mooney thoroughly enjoyed his tour of the fantastic educational facility. “This is a very impressive exhibit that relays the history of Randolph County and its role in the Civil War and the Westward Expansion in depth,” said Congressman Alex X. Mooney.
