Congressman Mooney Seeks Wounded Warrior or Medically Retired Veteran for Position in Martinsburg District Office

MARTINSBURG, W. Va. – Congressman Alex X. Mooney is seeking a Wounded Warrior or medically discharged veteran to serve as a Veteran’s Constituent Services Representative in his Martinsburg District Office.

The veteran chosen for this special Wounded Warrior Fellowship will work with military and veteran constituents. Work responsibilities will involve managing veterans-related casework, acting as a liaison between constituents and federal, state, and local agencies and fulfill other assigned duties. This individual will be in integral part of the district congressional office.

“When we send our sons and daughters into our armed services, we make a commitment to care for them as they return and hosting the wounded Warrior Fellowship within my office is a way of making sure we honor that commitment,” said Congressman Mooney. “I’m excited to work with the U.S. House of Representatives and the Wounded Warrior Fellowship program to ensure veteran constituents in West Virginia’s Second Congressional District have access to their federal government and the care that they have earned.”

The Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program was established by the U.S. House of Representatives to provide employment opportunities for wounded or disabled veterans within member offices. This  program is limited to veterans who meet all of the following requirements: Honorably discharged, released from active duty within the last five years, terminal pay grades at or below E-5 or O-3, 20% or greater service connected disabilities (waived for Purple Heart recipients). Veterans who are in receipt of a 20-year or Temporary Early Retirement Authorization (TERA) retirement are not eligible for the program.
