CHARLESTON – Congressman Alex X. Mooney today announced a $1,070,880 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) grant awarded to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) for strengthening STD prevention and control at county health departments. This grant was awarded through a program under the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“I am pleased to announce this funding for the West Virginia DHHR as they continue assisting county health departments combat the spread of sexually transmitted diseases in West Virginia,” Congressman Mooney said. “These resources are crucial to support the DHHR’s excellent work in STD control and prevention and further allows them to do it in a safe and efficient manner. I will continue fighting for our county and state health centers in Congress.”
