WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Congressman Alex X. Mooney released the following statement after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit issued a nationwide stay of the Environmental Protection Agency’s “Waters of the United States” regulations:
“This is a major win for farmers, businesses, and families in West Virginia. The Environmental Protection Agency’s harmful WOTUS rule is detrimental to our communities in West Virginia and across the country,” said Rep. Mooney. “West Virginia’s own Attorney General Patrick Morrissey led the charge in stopping this rule, and I applaud his efforts to prevent this devastating regulation from going into effect.”
Alex X. Mooney represents West Virginia’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a member of the Budget and Natural Resources Committees.
