ELKINS, WV. – On Monday, Congressman Alex X. Mooney visited on site with members of the Randolph County Economic Development Authority. Rep. Mooney joined the group as they went over proposed plans for the coming events center. Earlier this month, Randolph County was awarded a $5.4 million grant from the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration. The grant supports construction of a 16,000-square foot building to serve as a conference and events center and workforce development facility. Congressman Mooney was proud to write a letter of support for the county during the application process.
“I was pleased to hear directly from the Randolph Country Economic Authority on their plans for the EDA grant to construct a multi-purpose facility as a hub for business conferences and events,” said Congressman Alex X. Mooney, R-W.Va. “This funding will help boost local business establishments in Elkins by providing vital economic opportunities and jobs.”
