SUMMIT POINT - Rep. Alex Mooney, R-W.Va., is fighting a proposal that he says would shut down a training facility in Summit Point. On Wednesday, Mooney denounced part of President Barack Obama's budget submission for Fiscal Year 2016 planning, development and construction of a Foreign Affairs Security Training Center in Virginia. The president proposed the construction of the Foreign Affairs Security Training Center in Virginia, at an estimated cost of more than $400 million.

The House budget for the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to come to the full floor for a vote sometime next week, sources say. The House Budget Committee released the budget earlier this week and it has successfully passed out of committee. Rep. Alex Mooney, R-W.Va, the only West Virginia representative on the budget committee, proposed three specific items that are included in the House budget.

“This is the latest highlight of the terrible effects of putting federal bureaucracy in between a family and their healthcare decisions, “Mooney said. “The terrible financial impact of having a newborn go uncovered is wreaking havoc on struggling young families. I can attest to the absurdity of this process having lived through it myself in the last year, and being prevented from adding my newborn baby to my family’s insurance plan.”
